November Newsletter

In this time of profound transformation, we are certainly grateful to you and for everything you do to make our planet brighter!

Along the same power lines, we are live and in the news! Earlier this month, Kicking Gas was featured in a Bloomberg “Green article” highlighting our campaign’s outstanding achievements in 2023 and the vision you are helping us create for 2024 and beyond. A great read, it outlined everything our tiny organization has done to help make the transition from fossil fuels to electric tangible, affordable, and accessible! We were also included in a nonprofit online magazine called, Reasons to be Cheerful! We’re more than cheerful to see our work recognized and excited to see that we’re inspiring other communities to take action for a healthier future!

Power up Kicking Gas this #GivingTuesday! Kicking Gas is supported by grants but sustained by individual donors like you. No gift is inconsequential. Even $5 or $10 keeps the lights of people-power burning! Make a gift this #GivingTuesday 11/28 to help us kick more gas!

Events Recap! Thank you to all who made it to our Info Session and “Greet & Beats” on Saturday, November 18th! We had an incredible turnout with 30 enthusiastic attendees, great music, great food, and great community.

At the Info Session, we unveiled preliminary details about our January plans to help more homes pursue their goals of home electrification and explored the critical connection between fossil fuel-driven appliances and brain and respiratory health. If you are interested in a Kicking Gas decarbonization subsidy, please be sure to attend a future Info Session - a requirement of our program and a great way to be educated about current opportunities and science!

Our Info Session was followed by our “Uncommon Electric: Greet & Beats” event featuring funk, soul, dance, and global rhythms from DJ Portals of Creations. We had organic refreshments, great conversations, and connections with community members.
Keep an eye out on our
Events page for upcoming gatherings in 2024!

What We’re Reading: Recent articles about the health impacts of burning gas and propane stoves and cooktops in our kitchens have appeared in Mother Jones and The Guardian, inspiring our team to take rapid action to make clean solutions widely available and educate our community about ways to improve the safety of our homes. Be sure to read our future newsletters to learn more!

Thank you all for being a part of this campaign! Again, your support is deeply appreciated this season and always. Click here to donate and spread the energy. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

Best wishes,

The Kicking Gas Team
