SOLARIZE ISLAND COUNTY
Solarize Island County is a solar energy group purchasing program we’re sponsoring now through July 4th. This program will support Island County residents to install solar panels on their homes and businesses. You can reserve your free solar assessment on the program webpage SolarizeIsland.org.
Mark your calendars! We’ll be hosting a free public workshop on April 17th at Front Room at the Bayview Cash Store starting at 6pm. Come on by and learn more about the benefits of this program, and get all your questions answered directly from our Solarize installers! RSVP HERE
Solar energy has clear economic and environmental benefits, but installing solar on your home can seem like a daunting process: from perceived costs, to complicated technical details, to figuring out which installers to choose. That's why we’re sponsoring Solarize Island County, a solar group purchasing program in partnership with Olympia Community Solar. Olympia Community Solar’s previous Solarize programs have resulted in over 350 solar installations around the Puget Sound.
Solarize Island County includes vetted local solar installers Western Solar, and Whidbey Sun & Wind. The installers were selected through a competitive bidding process based on equipment quality, business practices, and special discounted pricing.

To be part of the program, sign up for a free home assessment at SolarizeIsland.org before July 4th. A Solarize installer will conduct an assessment of your home or business and provide a detailed proposal at the campaign’s discounted rate. If you choose to contract, the installer will schedule the date of your solar installation. Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union is also providing special solar financing for Solarize participants. The knowledgeable staff at Kicking Gas & Olympia Community Solar will be available anytime to answer your questions, review proposals, and guide participants through the process every step of the way.
Solarize customers also benefit from reduced energy bills thanks to their solar production and net metering, an agreement between a customer and their utility that allows them to earn utility bill credits for any extra energy that flows back into the electrical grid. Customers can offset their entire electrical bill with solar, except for their fixed monthly customer charge. And, solar plus battery storage is a cleaner, healthier, and viable recommended alternative to fossil fueled generators.
We are proud to offer this unique program to accelerate the adoption of solar energy, an essential part of reducing our region’s climate pollution and creating more resilient and healthy communities. By prioritizing solar education, consumer protection, & locally trusted installers, Solarize Island County is making the process of going solar simple, secure, and accessible.
Whether you’ve gotten a solar assessment before or not, we encourage you to look into this limited time offering and share this opportunity with your friends, family, and neighbors!
Inquiries may be sent to Derek@KickGasNow.org or Info@olysol.org or (360) 481-4020.
