June Newsletter

The sun is out and shining, don’t miss your final opportunity this month to harness clean energy by getting solar panels on your home through our Solarize program!

This is also a great time to move ahead with your home decarbonization project. If you or someone you know is interested in electric heat pumps or cooking stoves, please have them RSVP for our June Info Session. More information on both of these things can be found below.

Solarize Island County is open for enrollment until July 4th!
Sign up for this limited time offering where you’ll get discounted prices, vetted local installers, and quality made-in-Washington solar panels.

Installing solar on your home can seem like a daunting process: from perceived costs, to technical details, to figuring out which installers to choose. To address these challenges and to support homeowners, we are sponsoring Solarize Island, a group purchasing program used throughout the country to reduce costs and simplify the installation process. Sign up for a free home assessment before July 4th at SolarizeIsland.org!

Lookout for anti-kicking gas canvassers
As you may have noticed, anti-kicking gas canvassers have started campaigning at the ferry docks. Canvassers have been collecting signatures to halt the state’s push to end natural gas use in homes and other buildings.

This is something that we want the Kicking Gas community to be aware of as we continue to strive for more sustainable and healthier homes. For more information, check out this article from The Columbian, Builders launch initiative to block Washington’s natural gas phase-out

Kicking Gas Info Session June 27th
This is a reminder for folks who are interested in decarbonizing their homes but haven’t yet attended an Info Session, an eligibility requirement for receiving a subsidy. Our next Info Session will be Thursday, June 27th, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Zoom. Click here to RSVP!

For those unable to attend the Info Session on June 27th, the next will be held July 24th, also 6:00-7:00p.m. on Zoom.
